Liputan6.com, Jakarta Head of the Geriatrics Team of Telogorejo Hospital Semarang, dr. B. Neni Mulyanti, Sp.PD-FINASIM explained related nap for the elderly (elderly).
According to him, no one has ever said that the elderly should not take a nap. However, a good nap is the one that doesn’t make insomnia when night.
“It’s okay to take a nap, the important thing is not to be unable to sleep at night because there are too many naps during the day,” said Neni in a Geriatri TV virtual seminar quoted on Saturday (2/4/2022).
In order not to disturb sleep at night, naps need to be directed at a certain time.
“We tend to take naps more at nap time in general, which is 12 o’clock or after lunch.”
“If before 12 noon already sleepy and sleeping, then it’s very possible sleep quality the night will be disturbed.”
