Happy ending after a nasty scam: The Itzehoer Kripo made sure that an elderly man from Marne (Dithmarschen district) could be set back 5,000 euros.
According to MOPO information, an unknown person contacted the elderly man via Whatsapp on Thursday and pretended to be his son. He reported an accident and asked for 5,000 euros to avoid going to prison.
According to the police, the elderly gentleman then commissioned the amount. But later he had doubts about the story.

When he could no longer stop the transfer, the deceived contacted the police. Officials froze the recipient’s account without further delay and thus ensured that the transferred amount could be credited back to the sender. Further investigations continue.
