The Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández airport has been the setting chosen for the celebration of an act, organized by the Business Union of the Province of Alicante (UEPAL), in order to analyze the prospects of economic and social recovery of the province after the crisis caused by the COVID-19.
Among those attending the event, the president of the Provincial Council of Alicante, Carlos Mazón, has highlighted the “compatibility” of the congress centers that, with the financial impulse of the provincial institution are projected in Alicante and Elche. Mazón has indicated that both actions are complementary and that “they will mark a before and after” for the province.
For its part, the mayor, Carlos González, has vindicated the participation of the city in the airport management and has raised the need to develop the environment of the Alicante Fair Institution (IFA), as well as the completion of infrastructures, mainly railways. The mayor has emphasized the collaborative relationship with Alicante, and has valued the Tajo-Segura transfer, at a crucial time for this infrastructure.
The director of the airport, Laura Navarro, has wanted the two cities to work as tourist destination, of congresses, fairs and digital to improve its positioning and has offered the possibilities of the venue it directs to help achieve this.
