Two foreigners were arrested yesterday afternoon at Athens International Airport, accused of importing narcotic substances into Greek territory by air, with the aim of further trafficking.
In particular, according to the Police, following an investigation by the Airport Narcotics Enforcement Department, the two defendants were identified as members of an international criminal organization, which was active in importing narcotics into our country.
In this context, a targeted check was carried out during which the accused were detected upon their arrival from a European country at the airport “El. Venizelos” and were arrested.
In physical checks carried out, a total of the following were found and seized:
- 5 kg and 20 g. cannabis
- 1,960 captagon tablets
- 1,880 “ecstasy” tablets
- 7 medicinal tablets
- 660 euros and
- 2 cell phones
Those arrested will be taken to the competent prosecuting authority.
