El Telégrafo – Ecuador received 206 thousand doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine

The national government chaired by Guillermo Lasso continues to manage the arrival of more doses of the vaccine against covid-19 and this Sunday, June 20, 2021, a shipment of 206 thousand doses of AstraZeneca arrived in the country, which was immediately transferred to the Vaccine Bank. Expanded Immunization Program, in order to be distributed nationwide in vaccination programs.

In the vaccine bank, the doses are entered in special rooms to maintain the cold chain and personnel of the Agency for Regulation, Control and Sanitary Surveillance (ARCSA), verify the temperature of the vaccines and perform the registration according to the batch number and devices placed in each biological box.

The arrival of this new shipment belongs to a direct purchase from the Ministry of Public Health. Ecuador has received 1,370,000 doses of this brand.

The country has so far the following number of doses according to types of vaccines:

Pfizer: 1’427.469

Sinovac: 2’220.000

Astrazeneca: 1’370.000

Ttotal doses received: 5’017.469
