El Telégrafo – Bon Jovi pays tribute to New York City in his new video clip

New York has been one of the cities hardest hit by the coronavirus pandemic. That is why Bon Jovi has paid tribute to the Big Apple in the video for Do What You Can, a video full of hope and in which the artist sets an example by wearing a mask.

The clip opens with news about the city announcing that it has reached the “critical part” of the covid-19 crisis. “New Yorkers have a reputation for being tough, tough. New York will get over this. We’ll get over this,” you hear.

The musician walks through the practically empty city, showing closed premises, workers in the streets and posters urging to maintain social distance. The video ends with an emotional message. “Dedicated to the everyday heroes fighting to overcome this pandemic”, you can read. The clip was posted on YouTube on August 25 and already has more than 330,000 views.

“Shooting video on the nearly empty streets of Manhattan in the midst of a global crisis really tells the story of Do What You Can from where I lived it,” Jon Bon Jovi said in a statement.

“I know those empty streets look like so many other parts of America battling this pandemic. But the story of everyday heroes displaying incredible courage was inspiring to watch, and the video, like the song, brings so much hope. too, “he added.

Do What You Can is part of his next album, titled 2020, which will be released on October 2. The album also includes the song American Reckoning in homage to George Floyd. (I)
