El Salvador was left alone with Sindy Portillo in the ISA World Longboard Championship – – 2024-04-25 13:08:23

Sindy Portillo is the only Salvadoran representative who continues to compete in the women’s category of the Surf City El Salvador ISA World Longboard Championship 2024, which takes place on El Sunzal beach.

Tomorrow the surfer from Miguel will compete in heat 2 of the fourth repechage round against the Korean Leena.

Portillo could not stay in the main women’s round by placing fourth in her heat with a time of 3.83 points in the third round.

The series was dominated by the Japanese Natsumi Taoka with a score of 12.20 and in second place was the Frenchwoman Zoé Grospiron with 11.70, while the Brazilian Atalanta Batista also went to the playoffs with 9.77.

The athlete, a local from Las Flores beach, San Miguel, took a wave that she maneuvered very well, but its size was not enough for her to show her best technical repertoire.

On Tuesday, the Salvadoran delegation was left without Amado de Jesús Alvarado, an athlete from the Effort and Glory Program, who finished in third place with a score of 4.17 in round 3 of the repechage and closed his participation.

The Salvadoran was surpassed by Sam Christianson who achieved a score of 12.04 and the Mexican Jonathan Melendres who also advanced to the round by scoring 12.03.

Henry Salinas could not advance either, he achieved a score of 7.53 and finished in third place in round 3 of the repechage and said goodbye to the competition.

The heat was dominated by the Spanish Jon Garmendia with 12.24 points and in second position was the Englishman Ben Howey with 10.27.
