El Salvador prohibits entry of passengers from Spain due to coronavirus | El Salvador News

The ban adds to the entry restriction of travelers from China, South Korea, Italy, Iran, France and Germany.

President Nayib Bukele, issued the order to prohibit the entry to El Salvador, to passengers coming from Spain. The European country is the seventh in the list that has restrictions on entering Salvadoran territory due to cases of the coronavirus. This was announced tonight, through his Twitter account.

According to health data, Spain is the seventh country with more registered cases of coronavirus.

China, South Korea, Italy, Iran, France and Germany are the other countries that make up the list.

Bukele explained that two exceptions will be made: one with the contingent of Spanish soldiers who will meet with our troops in Lebanon; and the other with the contingent of doctors who will come to operate Salvadorans.

He explained that both will be isolated while the coronavirus tests are done, until they are discarded.

Sanitation at the Airport

A team of experts carried out a sanitization process last Sunday in various areas of the San Oscar Arnulfo Romero International Airport as a preventive measure to prevent the entry of the coronavirus epidemic.

For the sterilization of the port facilities, the chemical called AM500 is applied, which has an effect of 90 days, according to the Health authorities. The chemist is approved by WHO.

“Sanitation creates much more hygienic areas, free of bacteria, is a strategic phytosanitary measure that will be implemented according to the guidelines and protocols that have defined all international organizations,” said Alabi.

Sanitation work was carried out at 9:30 p.m. when the air terminal had entered its minimum phase of passenger service operations.

This process involves applying heat or chemicals necessary to kill most germs.

Preventive plan

Last Saturday night, Bukele also banned entry to The Savior of people from Germany and France as a preventive measure for the epidemic of coronavirus. The measure adds to the one that days ago imposed the government for travelers from China, South Korea, Italy and Iran, where the greatest number of affectations due to the disease have been registered.

The president explained that in the case of Salvadorans or diplomats who come from those nations they will have to pass a “30-day quarantine” for the purpose of “Rule out that they are not carriers” from COVID-19.

“Measures of symptoms and health monitoring of people entering any country that has reported cases of coronavirus should also be extreme”, said President Bukele. He added that “The Stop Over program of the Ministry of Tourism is suspended in the airport hub”. This program allows temporary entry during long flight stops.

The authorities of the expanded Health cabinet gave a conference last Sunday in which they also reported that the figure has been raised to 90 of people in quarantine in the country as a result of the protocol applied by the government to travelers entering from countries where there is circulation and confirmed cases.

In addition, the presidential commissioner, Carolina Recinos, referred to some fake audios circulating in networks social in which it is assured that there are already cases of the disease in the country. Recinos said they will deliver those audios to the respective authorities, and urged the population to inform themselves through official channels.

The authorities also denied that there is a suspicious case in the country. “We want to clarify that there is no suspected case of coronavirus and there is no case under close surveillance at the Saldaña Hospital,” said Deputy Minister of Health, Francisco Alabí.

On the other hand, last Sunday afternoon, three Salvadoran scholars from China arrived in the country, who have already completed quarantine in Ukraine and will also remain one more month in isolation in El Salvador.
