El Salvador joined the celebration of the world week of “Respected Childbirth”, which represents the consolidation of the work of various areas in maternal and child care, under the vision of the First Lady, Gabriela de Bukele.
“The world week of respected childbirth vindicates the role of the family,” said the coordinator of Health and Nutrition Projects of the Office of the First Lady, Gamero Elisa, and explained that the approach of respected childbirth is transformative, it is taking into account the decisions, interest and emotions of the mother and baby.
Gamero also announced that as part of the world week of respected childbirth, on Friday they will be in Cuscatlán park addressing prenatal education.
For his part, the Minister of Health, Fran Alabi, referred to the importance of the world week of respected childbirth. “This week, definitely, is of such international significance, for us it represents the consolidation of the work and above all the effort of the First Lady, Gabriela de Bukele, and of those who do everything humanly possible for children,” he stated.
Alabi said that the Born with Cariño Law is based on scientific evidence and highlighted the knowledge that the First Lady has on the subject, and that the country is being a representative of the region in this advance, guaranteeing the guidelines that scientific evidence dictates.
The Government will continue to ensure compliance with the Nacer con Cariño Law to provide the treatment and respect in the process that each mother and her family deserves.
