El Salvador, Guatemala and Costa Rica hold the 4th Friendly Taekwondo Ranking – 2024-02-29 13:47:22

With the support of the National Sports Institute of El Salvador (INDES) and the Parque Cuscatlán Foundation, the Community Taekwondo Schools of El Salvador (ESCOTESA) carried out the 4th Friendly Taekwondo Ranking 2024, with the participation of Guatemala and Costa Rica, in order to strengthen ties of friendship with athletes from neighboring countries.

The fourth friendly ranking was held in Cuscatlán Park, with the participation of the Republic of Guatemala Taekwondo School and the Republic of Costa Rica Taekwondo School, in order to strengthen ties of friendship and create a space where the martial art is promoted. for all participants from national schools and guests from the Central American region.

According to the president of ESCOTESA, teacher Joaquín Rivas, the institutions that participated in this activity were the Parque Cuscatlàn Taekwon-Do School, Apastepeque Municipal Taekwon-Do School, Wharang Taekwon-Do School of Cojutepeque, Taekwon-Do School Dob Black Panther Fe y Alegría, Taber Atlacatl Taekwon-Do School, and the guests from Guatemala and Costa Rica.

Around 100 students from the ITF line discipline participated in the activity, on a regional scale, both in the form of exhibition combat, sports and forms, in the categories: children from 4 years old, youth, seniors and veterans.

The levels started from novices, beginners, intermediate and advanced, with the different belts: white-yellow, green-blue and red-black.

The discipline of taekwondo in El Salvador ITF, specifically the community schools, encourage youth to enter one of the sports that most influences the personal and sporting development of people who practice this branch of the martial art.

Since its inception, the practice of taekwondo helps foster social relationships, communication relationships, and fosters respect among training partners. In addition, it directly influences the improvement of the emotional well-being of students through regular practice that helps improve states of stress by channeling emotions in a positive way, explained teacher Rivas.
