El Salvador enables vaccination against covid-19 for foreigners

The Government of El Salvador enabled vaccination against covid-19 for foreigners, including tourists, as reported on Monday by President Nayib Bukele.

“We enable vaccination against # COVID19 for foreigners,” the president published on his Twitter account, adding that “the only requirement is to make the appointment with a document”, which can be “passport or any identification document from another country ”.

“It applies to all people who live with irregular status in our country and for tourists,” he explained.

He indicated that “the document with which they register does not matter, the only thing necessary is that it be a document with a photo and present it at the time of vaccination” as of this Tuesday.

El Salvador has applied 8,141,990 vaccines, of which 4,239,093 are first doses, 3,601,685 correspond to a second inoculation and 301,212 to third doses.

Since last June, El Salvador has faced a rebound in cases, with which the daily number of infections went from 134 cases, on June 1, to 305 on October 13, while the highest number of the year occurred on September 18 with 341 confirmed cases.
