The El Salvador U-20 team met its rivals for the CONCACAF World Cup that will take place from July 20 to August 4 in Guanajuato, Mexico, and will share a group with two World Cup teams that already have experience in the qualifying round.

The blue and white team was placed in group B of the qualifiers, along with Honduras, the Dominican Republic, and Canada. The first two selections; the H and the Dominican, already have material in the competition, at least, the previous generation had a recent participation.
