The El Salvador women’s team won the duel against Suriname 3-0 and qualified for the main draw of the U14 Junior Tennis World Cup Pre-Classification of Central America and the Caribbean, which takes place at the Ciudad Merliot Sports Complex.
With the victory, the Cuscatleco team, made up of Ximena Esperanza, Camila Morataya and Isabella Martínez, also secured first place in group C with two wins in the same number of games.
Both teams had just defeated Santa Lucía in their first match and the match was decisive in defining first place in the group.
The first point of the series against the Surinamese team was secured by Ximena Esperanza with a 6-0, 6-4 victory. Ximena took control of the first set with a quick break with which she took a 3-0 lead that later changed to 6-0 without reply.
In the next round Kayla Currie came out more focused and took advantage in some sections of the game with a 1-2 that later became 3-4, but the Salvadoran managed to even the cards 4-4. Ximena secured the next two games with precise shots to the left and right with which she placed the final 6-4.
For her part, Camila Morataya won 6-0 and 6-1 against Cybelle Ferrier and made the overall score of the series 2-0.
Morataya played a good game against the Caribbean woman, who was never able to decipher the strategy of the Salvadoran who was accurate in her shots.
El Salvador made the overall score 3-0 with the victory of Isabella Martínez and Ximena Esperanza in the doubles match against Kayla Currie and Zaira Satahoo with partials of 6-0 and 6-1.

In the afternoon, the El Salvador men’s team, made up of Mateo Gutiérrez, Sebastián Martínez and Marco Avendaño, won the series against Aruba and closed group D as undefeated leaders.
Martínez beat Nicolás Lee 6-0 and 6-1, while Mateo Gutiérrez won 7-6(6) and 6-4. to Noah Martínez. The doubles match was played by Marco Avendaño and Sebastián Martínez against Ingwersen and Noah Martínez.
The champion will advance to the next qualifying stage of the World Junior Tennis Championships where Mexico, the United States and Canada will also play.
The ITF tournament has a record of 87 tennis players, from 17 countries. 12 teams participate in the women’s branch and 17 in the men’s team.
Honduras, Virgin Islands, Jamaica, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Bermuda, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Bahamas, Aruba, Curacao, Barbados, Panama, Suriname, Saint Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago and El Salvador are the participating countries in the youth tournament.
