El Phantasmo announced that he had a cancerous tumor.
AEW
Canadian New Japan Pro-Wrestling wrestler El Phantasmo has announced that he has a cancerous tumor, forcing him to take time away from the ring indefinitely.
El Phantasmo sent a message on his X account (Twitter) to share his state of health. He then declared that after having undergone several medical examinations in recent weeks, doctors diagnosed him with the presence of a “small cancerous tumor”. His message, however, is intended to be reassuring; he wants to point out that he is well surrounded, whether by his family or by loved ones who had to overcome this ordeal before him.
“I just want to express it so no one will worry about me. I had several tests and scans over the last two weeks, and the doctors detected a small cancerous tumor. Fortunately, things are moving quickly, I have amazing family, friends and fans by my side, and I am very grateful to have the support of warriors who have suffered the same thing in the past, and I plan to help those who will cross it later. Believe me when I tell you that I am in good health, that I am neither nervous, nor worried, nor afraid. » he published this Tuesday, October 29, 2024 on his networks.
A message of support for Chris Bey
The former IWGP Tag Team Champion and NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Champion also took the opportunity to send a message of support to his friend Chris Bey, who injured his neck at the TNA Impact tapings last weekend , sequel to Bound For Glory 2024.
“Please send your love and prayers to my brother Chris Bey, he needs it so much, much more than I do right now. » he wrote, before continuing by promising to come back stronger following this ordeal: “My dream of supporting Hiroshi Tanhashi and defending New Japan Pro-Wrestling will come true, but it’s just impossible to say when. My fighting spirit has never been so powerful, and I promise that when I’m ready, I’ll be back stronger than ever! With love, ELP ».
