El Otmani: “Morocco is always ready to reopen the borders with Algeria”

Moroccan Prime Minister Saad Eddine El Otmani spoke on Saturday on the issue of the reopening of borders with Algeria and the events of Guerguerate.

In an interview granted to the Saudi channel “Asharq”, the Moroccan minister indicated the normalization of relations between his country and Israel, and the latest events of Guerguerate, are not intended to “harm Algeria”.

Regarding the latest events in Western Sahara, Saad Eddine El Otmani affirmed that “there is nothing that Morocco is doing to confirm its sovereignty over its Sahara, on the political, diplomatic or even military level, which can harm the neighboring country Algeria ”.

In this sense, the Minister indicated that the King has repeatedly called on our Algerian brothers to open a serene dialogue, to ask all questions of differences, in order to resolve them ”.

Concerning the question of the borders between the two countries, the Moroccan Prime Minister underlined that “the Marco remains always ready for the reopening of the borders, without any counterpart, and when our Algerian brothers are also ready”.
