Nader El-Jindaoui is a celebrated star on the internet, but the ex-Herthan player recently suffered a setback on the football field. Now the 27-year-old is making a new attempt.

Former Hertha offensive player and social media star Nader El-Jindaoui is currently training with Marco Reus’ club in the USA. El-Jindaoui was invited to Los Angeles by the Los Angeles Galaxy, as the 27-year-old Berliner reported in an Instagram story. “This is where I have been training for the last few days and this is where we will be for the next few weeks,” said El-Jindaoui in a video in which he showed, among other things, the club’s gym, training pitches and stadium.
El-Jindaoui is there with his wife Louisa and their two children. They would look at America and think about moving to the USA in the next few weeks, he said in a video on their shared YouTube channel.
He became known to a large audience on social media with his family. El-Jindaoui has 2.2 million followers on Instagram. Around two million have subscribed to the couple’s YouTube channel, where they have been giving insights into their lives for years.
Successful professional debut in the cup
After regular appearances in the regional league, El-Jindaoui only made his professional debut with Hertha last season, and he even played a crucial role in the round of 16 of the DFB Cup. The attacker initiated the late 3:3 shortly before the end of extra time and also scored in the penalty shootout, which the Berliners won 5:3. A few days later he made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga against VfL Osnabrück (0-0).
His contract was not extended in the summer of 2024, and El-Jindaoui has been without a club since then. “Even if some say I’m an influencer – but I’m a footballer and I share a little bit of my life,” said El-Jindaoui after his cup appearance. “I’m a footballer. And that’s how I feel.”
