The plenary session of the Cabildo de El Hierro has approved this week, unanimously by all the formations represented in the island institution, To request the Government of the Canary Islands to in turn urge the State Executive to defend the candidacy of the Bajasa de la Virgen de Los Reyes before Unesco to be declared a World Heritage Site.
The councilor of the Herreño Council, Tatiana Brito, remember that the work is practically done and that the only thing missing is the support of the Executive of Pedro Sánchez so that, a party so loved and respected by the locals themselves, appears on the list of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
Should the Bajada de la Virgen de Los Reyes achieve this objective, this festival would hold the same distinction as the Silbo Gomero, El Teide, the historic center of La Laguna and Risco Caído and the Sacred Mountains of Gran Canaria; this last distinction achieved a year ago now.
