On Friday, October 11, the opera company “Lírica en Diagonal”, from the city of La Plata, arrives at the Brazzola Theater for the first time, to present WA Mozart’s comic opera “The Marriage of Figaro”.
After performing on our main stage, the group will perform at others in the province, such as the Teatro Colón in Mar del Plata, the Teatro Maipú in Banfield and El Pasaje Dardo Rocha in La Plata, among others.
The team behind and on stage is made up of around thirty artists, including solo singers, orchestral musicians, choreographers and technical assistants, among others, which anticipates a first-class evening.
The company, founded in 2022, has already released great titles in La Plata and the Province of Buenos Aires, works such as The Magic Flute, La Bohème and The Barber of Seville.
The group is made up of professionals from La Plata, the Buenos Aires suburbs and the city of Buenos Aires, and is led by the singer and stage designer Fernando Alvar Núñez in the general direction, and the composer and conductor Sebastián Novoa Oliva in the musical direction.
The latter also worked for almost 8 years as a teacher at the School Orchestra of our city, where he also obtained a diploma in School Orchestra Methodology.
Regarding the opera, we must say that the Count of Almaviva tries to exercise the right of stay with Figaro’s fiancée, who is both his servant and friend, on the same day of their wedding. With the help of the Countess and all the palace servants, Figaro will manage to twist fate’s arm.
In the form of a fun and agile comedy, full of humor and mischief, Mozart openly addresses all the great debates of his time: the noble versus the commoner, the old versus the new and much more.
“The Marriage of Figaro” by Wolgang Amadeus Mozart is among the five most popular operas in history and is currently performed in about 5,000 performances a year around the world.
Tickets are now on sale at the Brazzola Municipal Theater box office, with a value of $5 thousand pesos.
