El Al continues to support patriotic activities related to the war in Gaza and to the families of the abductees. Today the company flew to Amsterdam more than a hundred representatives of kidnapped families on a special flight. The families went to the International Court of Justice in The Hague to file a lawsuit against the Hamas leaders for the brutal acts they committed on October 7.
El Al gave this special flight the special code LY131, to mark the 131 days the abductees have been held captive by Hamas in Gaza. The flight back to Israel will be called LY134 to denote the 134 kidnapped. El Al pilots will use these numbers in the communication systems with the global air traffic control units throughout the flights, in order to echo the message to the world for the return of the abductees.
The headquarters of the families of the abductees continues to commit to protecting the rights of the abductees and their families, and calls on the international community to support these efforts to ensure the quick and safe release of the 134 abductees held by Hamas. The El Al company is a partner of the headquarters of the families of the abductees and makes great efforts to echo the message in Israel and the world, and to fly the families for diplomatic purposes.
Captain Micha Seversky, the pilot of flight LY131, told the families before takeoff: “It is an honor for us to fly you on the significant and important journey you are embarking on. Our flight is named LY131 to mark the 131 days that you have been in captivity. While we are in the air, we will speak to the international control controls under the code name EL AL 131 and remind the whole world that we are waiting for them at home and wish for the return of all the abductees as soon as possible. We trust you, support you and are with you all the way. We wish you a successful journey.’
