Ekstraklasa. Stal Mielec – Lech Poznań. “Kolejorz” sends a strong signal to the rest of the league – Sport

From the very first seconds, Lech Poznań managed to take complete control of the match. Stal focused primarily on defense, rarely crossing the midfield line. The visitors took full advantage of this, attacking more and more dangerously.

In the 29th minute, Sousa hit the post after Stal was disastrously moving the ball out of their own half. This was “Kolejorz’s” best chance and it really was just centimeters away from “Kolejorz” enjoying a deserved lead.

What Sousa failed to do, Hotić achieved a moment later. The player made excellent use of a free kick from twenty meters and gave Lech a goal.

In the 37th minute Stal was already losing 0:2. They gifted their opponents with the second goal, Kozubal got ahead of his opponent, headed it to Ishak, who made no mistake in a one-on-one situation. Stal could have responded a few minutes later, but after a great move Domański hit the crossbar with a header.

By half-time, Lech had a confident lead, and coach Frederiksen’s team was playing very well. Two youngsters, Kuzabal and Gorgul, were particularly noteworthy, as they once again played brilliantly this season.

The second half was not a big challenge for Lech and it was clear that “Kolejorz” simply wanted to finish the match, using as little strength as possible. The Poznań team did not strive to score another goal at all costs, they focused primarily on preventing Stal from getting back into the match. And they fulfilled their task excellently – they did very well in defense, did not allow their opponents to have dangerous situations, and in addition they could have added a third goal at the very end.

Another match and another show of strength by “Kolejorz”, which will certainly be a strong candidate for the championship title.
