İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu attended the commemorations held in Istanbul due to the anniversary of the treacherous coup attempt on the night of July 15, 2016.
Speaking at the commemoration in front of İBB, İmamoğlu said,
“Whatever element is causing the July 15th, we have to remove them from the road map of our state. Republic of Turkey to each institution, the state, municipalities may be representing the public ministry may be different organizational structures, the task falls to each institution. Every political institution has a duty. İMAMOĞLU PARTICIPATED IN 15 JULY MEMORIES
251 martyrs who died in the treacherous coup attempt on the night of July 15, 2016 were commemorated in front of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality’s (İBB) headquarters in Saraçhane.
To the commemoration held in front of the “Martyrs Board”; İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu, IMM Assembly members, IMM senior management and citizens also participated. The commemoration, which started with a moment of silence for the martyrs and the reading of the National Anthem, continued with the Quran recitation.

MARTYRS COMMEMORATED IN EDİRNEKAPI, SHERBETHIP DISTRIBUTED AT THE 3rd AHMET FOUNTAIN
The commemoration ended with Imamoglu and the accompanying delegation leaving cloves on the “Martyrs’ Board”. Imamoglu visited the July 15 Democracy Martyrdom in Edirnekapi after the commemoration in front of IMM. Governor Ali Yerlikaya, 1st Army Commander Musa Avsever, IMM President Ekrem Imamoglu, martyrs ‘families, veterans and veterans’ relatives were present at the memorial ceremony organized by the Governorship of Istanbul.
The commemoration in Edirnekapı, which started with prayers, ended with a tour of the martyrs’ graves and leaving cloves in the graves. İmamoğlu and İBB Secretary General Can Akın Çağlar came from Edirnekapı in front of the 3rd Ahmet Fountain in Sultanahmet. İmamoğlu, who tasted the delight and sherbet distributed by Istanbul Foundations 1st Regional Directorate, met with intense interest of the citizens.
İmamoğlu, who made an evaluation to journalists, said: “In the Ottoman period, sultans shared the sherbet from the fountain and shared it with the society in some special moments and days. Today is an important day for us. We commemorate the martyrs of July 15 and wish their veterans a healthy life. With this intention, a preparation has been made from the Foundation. It’s a very noble thought. In fact, my suggestion to the Director of the Foundations was as follows: I think that we can never pour sherbet from these fountains without ignoring the clothes and tradition of these beautiful brothers. We think that it would be nice to taste the sherbet on some special days and memorial days here. ”
ANSWERED THE QUESTION OF “HAGIA SOPHIA”
