After more than two years, the Ekip group announces the arrival of a second opus for January 8, 2024. The teaser of the title “Makiye Mizè’w” announces this new upcoming musical project.
The Ekip group consists of the main trio Steeve Khé, D-Perfect, Shabba, and many experienced musicians and promising young artists. This rally gave birth on July 31, 2020 to the Ekip group. In 2021, the group was named “Revelation of the Year” for “Chire Filè a” according to the Ticket Magazine carnival charts. The same year, the Ekip group received the “Newbie of the year” trophy according to the choices of Kompa Magazine.
The group’s first album called “Back in the Game” was launched on September 14, 2021. The album’s distribution around the world was ensured by Universal Musique France. Remember that the album “Back in the Game” – composed of 15 tracks – captivated the attention of music lovers with memorable titles such as “Nou Kit”, “Ze Fele”, “Bingo”.
In three years of existence, the Ekip group has been able to ensure its presence on stage through all the posters of major festivals and evenings to which the group has been invited in Haiti and abroad. The tour called “Meli Melo” in 2022 ensured a tour of the group in different countries according to a busy schedule for four months. In May 2022, during the Haitian Compas Festival, the group Ekip and Darline Desca topped the list of performances on the first day of the festival.
The single “Ou blom” released on March 24, 2023 garnered one million views on YouTube in just four days. The first notes detected in “Makiye Mizè’w” and other titles suggest a very good musical arrangement and more vocal maturity.
