At the end of the anniversary of the 150th anniversary of the founding of the association, the music and singing association Eintracht Oberhaid (MGV) invited to a song recital in the community center. The evening was designed by the men’s choir and the mixed choir of the Frohsinn Bischberg sponsoring association, the women’s choir Vocalitas Oberhaid, an ensemble of the youth wind orchestra and the men’s choir of the MGV.
The choirs performed a colorful series of hits and compositions from various decades, but also from the 21st century. The women’s choir Vocalitas, for example, offered the guests an impressive, quadraphonic sound experience with the song “Only you” through the distributed arrangement of the individual choir parts in the hall. The program of the song evening ended with the song of the Franconians being sung together, but the evening went on for a long time.
Checkered club history
Wolfram Brüggemann, representative of the Franconian Singers’ Association, attributed the association’s long existence to the fact that it had changed again and again over the course of time. Re-established in 1951 after a break due to the war, the then all-male choral society devoted itself to a whole range of other activities in addition to choral singing, such as theater plays and even operetta performances. This was followed by the founding of a youth brass band, today’s very successful youth brass band, which was somewhat unusual for a male choir. Further stations were the founding of a women’s choir, today’s independent choir Vocalitas, and a youth choir. MGV
