Eintracht moves to the Dreieich sports park.
In addition to the new second team, the Bundesliga club is planning other projects and expansion measures: beer gardens, public viewings, family celebrations, events by companies, clubs, kindergartens or youth and refugee aid.
Board spokesman Axel Hellmann (50): “The area fits in perfectly with our plans.” Eintracht now presented its usage concept to the Dreieich city council.
The Bundesliga club had bought the 35,000 square meters in the south of Frankfurt from Dreieich patron Hans Nolte and committed to paying off the outstanding mortgage of 6 million euros (BILD reported). In addition, Eintracht holds two thirds of the operating company of the sports park (Nolte another third).
The complex with grandstands, playing field, artificial turf field, soccer field and functional buildings has an estimated value of more than six million euros.
Above all, Eintracht hopes for more talent. In addition to the second team of Eintracht, which will play in the Hessen League from summer, manager Patrick Ochs (37) will also keep an eye on the Dreieich youth club, which is still playing in the Hessen League, on the grounds of the sports park.
