Eintracht Frankfurt wants top talent from the competition – but time is running out

When looking for young talents with great potential, Eintracht Frankfurt struck gold at VfL Wolfsburg.

Frankfurt / Wolfsburg – The planning for the coming season has been going on for several weeks and Eintracht Frankfurt is looking for young, up-and-coming talents who have the potential for the Bundesliga. The SGE scouts caught the eye of a player from the youth department of VfL Wolfsburg, who has excellent facilities and could make a breakthrough in Germany’s top division.

Ben Manga is said to have watched him several times and is convinced of his abilities. Garcia MacNulty could be Eintracht Frankfurt’s next transfer coup, as Sky reports.

Eintracht Frankfurt: young talent from VfL Wolfsburg in focus

“As we hear, Wolfsburg wants to integrate him into the professional team next season, so discussions have to be held after the season,” Sky quotes his transfer expert Max Bielefeld. Eintracht Frankfurt must act quickly if you want to convince the 18-year-old to move to the Main. The central defender’s contract only runs until June 30, 2022. If he does not want to extend his contract with VfL Wolfsburg, this summer would be the last opportunity for the “wolves” to get a transfer for their top talent. A year later he would otherwise leave the club free of charge, which sports director Jörg Schmadtke wants to prevent with great certainty.

The 18-year-old, who is currently playing for the VfL Wolfsburg U19, came to Autostadt from Seville in 2019. García MacNulty was born in Seville, he has both Spanish and Irish nationality and is active in Ireland’s U17 team. The central defender scored three goals in nine international matches.

McNulty, courted by Eintracht Frankfurt, is the captain of the “Wolves” team that plays in the U19 Bundesliga North / Northeast. He previously wore the club’s U17 captain’s armband. The great talent also gained experience in the Regionalliga Nordost in the past season. He played three games for VfL Wolfsburg II, all of which he played over the full 90 minutes. There were no more games because the season was canceled prematurely due to the corona pandemic.

Eintracht Frankfurt: McNulty convinces with numerous strengths

In addition to his leadership qualities, the strengths of the 18-year-old from VfL Wolfsburg include a convincing build-up of the game, a strong left foot and a good physique, which is particularly important for a central defender. His style of play is considered rustic – he can also intervene when things get tough. Nevertheless, he has an extremely good technique, which he learned in the youth department of Betis Sevilla. His goal danger is also not to be despised – and not only with his head, but also with a full left-footed shot.

Should Eintracht Frankfurt sign the 1.87 meter tall young hopefuls, a transfer fee would have to be paid to VfL Wolfsburg. It is completely unclear what amount sports director Jörg Schmadtke would call for McNulty. At SGE he would be center-back number four alongside Martin Hinteregger, Evan Ndicka and Tuta. The young Irishman could learn a lot from the Austrian Hinteregger in particular and develop at the highest level.

Meanwhile, Andre Silva Eintracht could leave Frankfurt by missing the Champions League. A former SGE striker scores like an assembly line at his new club – was his sale a big mistake? (smr)
