Eindhoven Airport will ban all private flights from 2026. The airport wants to stay on track to achieve the set sustainability goals in 2030, it said a statement. According to these goals, noise pollution and CO2 emissions must be reduced by 30 percent by 2030.

Local residents have been complaining about noise pollution for some time, writes Broadcasting Brabant. By canceling private flights, the airport wants to reduce nuisance and also reduce CO2 emissions.

The measure is estimated to lead to an annual reduction of the total number of flights in Eindhoven by a thousand. There are now 41,500, which will increase to 40,500 in 2026 and 2027.

New aircraft

Eindhoven Airport also wants to start introducing a ‘take-off procedure’ as soon as possible, the way in which aircraft take off and climb to flight altitude, with the least noise pollution for the immediate environment.

By 2030 at the latest, only the latest generation of aircraft will be allowed to take off and land from Eindhoven Airport.
