Jakarta: Health service facilities (fasyankes) are considered to have to be prepared under any circumstances to face a surge in positive cases covid-19. Thus, COVID-19 patients are still being treated optimally.

“Don’t let the sick person stay out there without treatment, which might be bad for the patient himself and the community,” said the head of the Eijkman Institute for Molecular Biology (LBM), Amin Soebandrio, to Medcom.id, Sunday, June 27, 2021.

Amin said the delay in handling the patient covid-19 will have a negative impact and increase the potential number of deaths. Moreover, if the patient is infected with a more virulent variant of COVID-19.

“So it’s not only the virus variant but also because of the overload These health care facilities have led to an increase in cases and death rates,” Amin said.

He said health facilities such as hospitals must be prepared in advance to provide facilities for handling COVID-19. Moreover, the room in the hospital is no longer sufficient.

“The point is, if you can’t do it inside, don’t open the corridor or in the yard,” said Amin.

Currently, many hospitals provide emergency tents for COVID-19 patients. Amin supports the move.

“The treatment tent (also) is not an ordinary tent. The standard of care is like a field hospital actually,” said Amin.
