Panel From Hell is a showcase hosted by Belgian developer Larian Studios, who are also known as the studio behind Divinity: Original Sin 2 and its predecessor. They have taken on the astronomical task of creating a sequel to arguably the most ambitious RPG ever made. Baldur’s Gate III has been available in Steam Early Access for some time now and yesterday during the showcase it was announced that an eighth major update has been made available.
The update includes some new elements in the game that are worth noting. A Bard Class has been introduced, where the player plays a musician who is so obnoxious that he can fight in dungeons alongside the Berserks, Wizards, Warriors and the rest. The Bards, in turn, consist of two subclasses: the Collage of Valor, where the Bard is better suited on the front lines of battle, and the College of Lore, where this traveling musician is better equipped to wreak destruction at a distance. Now it’s not just the Bards who can make the streets unsafe with a musical instrument. After level 4, each class can play an instrument, which will evoke different reactions from NPCs.
The second big feature in this update is a new playable race. The Gnomes are small creatures very similar to a child, but with an adult disposition. This is the first race to be added since the game came out in Early Access.
The full release of the game is expected in 2023.
