Eighteen children and three adults died in a shooting at a school in Texas

Abbott said the shooters were killed by police. It was originally stated that the shooter had been arrested. It is not clear whether the list of victims includes an 18-year-old shooter and his grandmother. Ramos killed her before leaving school, CNN reported.

According to the governor, an 18-year-old young man from Uvalde fired Salvator Ramos. He attacked around noon local time. “We assume he came to school by car with a handgun and a rifle,” Abbott said. Ramos, according to Gutierrez, bought an assault rifle after the age of 18.

According to the governor, two men of the law were hit during the shootout, but their injuries are not serious.

The motive for the attack is unknown.

Pete Arredondo, who heads the local police department, said that second to fourth graders attended the primary school in question. In American schools, these grades usually consist of children between the ages of seven and ten.

According to initial information, 13 children with serious injuries were hospitalized at Uvalde Hospital, CNN spokesman Tom Nordwick told CNN.

A university hospital in nearby San Antonio reported on Twitter that she had accepted two other patients in connection with the shooting – one child and one adult. Both patients, a 66-year-old woman and a 10-year-old girl, are in critical condition.

The shooting at a Texas school is the third worst in the United States in twenty years. More people died in April 2007 in Virginia alone and in Newtown in December 2012.
