Eight-year-old black girl killed in Black Lives Matter protester in Atlanta

The little girl was shot and killed by a black man while driving with her mother, who was trying to get around a makeshift roadblock manned by gunmen.

Since the death of George Floyd in the United States during a police intervention, the country has been shaken by a wave of anti-racism. Numerous demonstrations were organized throughout the United States to protest against racism and “police violence”. But some of them have given rise to overflows of magnitude, even to scenes of chaos. For example, on Saturday evening July 4, an eight-year-old girl was shot dead in Atlanta, where a black man had been shot dead last month by a police officer, reports in particular the local chain WSB TV.

The dead girl in her mother’s arms

Named Secoriea Turner, this little black girl was driving in the car with her mother when they came across “A makeshift roadblock which was manned by numerous armed individuals”, explain the investigators. As the driver attempted to get around this obstacle, the vehicle was fired at “Intentional”, according to her. These shots hit her daughter who died in her arms, says the mother. “She was only eight years old. […] She had just finished eating. We understand the frustration for Rayshard Brooks [l’homme noir tué par un policier un mois plus tôt, NDLR], but we have nothing to do with it. My baby didn’t want to hurt ”. Secoriea’s father also said: “You killed yours this time. You killed a child “.

Recently, the Atlanta police released new videos and photos from the investigation. On one of them is a man dressed in a white t-shirt, carrying what the police have identified as an automatic rifle. If this individual is only one of the many people involved in the case, a reward of $ 20,000 has been promised for all information concerning him.
