ANNOUNCEMENTS•
Police arrested seven people on the Maasvlakte last night. Presumably these are the so-called ‘thieves’. These are mostly young people who take drugs from containers on behalf of criminal organizations. It involves six men and a 17-year-old boy. An eighth suspect was arrested this afternoon.
The men were found after two reports. Shortly after 1 a.m., police received a report from security guards that they had seen people at the port site. Two people were then arrested, a 19-year-old man from Zwijndrecht and a 20-year-old man from Rotterdam.
Later in the night, at 05:50, five more people were arrested. It concerns three people from Almere aged 17, 18 and 19, a resident of The Hague aged 28 and a man aged 23 without permanent residence. They are all still blocked. Another 26-year-old man was arrested in the afternoon.
Police are investigating the link between the eight arrests. Everyone is trapped.
