Their hearing is part of a preliminary investigation opened by the Bobigny public prosecutor’s office in April 2020 and entrusted to the IGPN. The facts were “Brought to the attention of the judicial authority” by the Paris police headquarters, said this institution.

This new case comes as the department of Seine-Saint-Denis was hit by the scandal of the security and intervention company (CSI). This controversial unit is targeted by fifteen investigations for acts of theft, violence, drug possession and forgery in public writing.

Four police officers were indicted in July 2020, but a total of about twenty officials are implicated. The Paris police prefect, Didier Lallement, announced the dissolution of CSI 93, which was finally reorganized and placed under the authority of the Paris CSI.
