Eight Passengers Stuck Upside Down on Roller Coaster at Forest County Festival in Wisconsin: Rescue Operation Underway

Eight passengers on a roller coaster ride at the Forest County Festival in Wisconsin in the United States, were stuck upside down for several hours 30 meters high in a loop, this Wednesday, July 5.

A nightmarish experience. Eight passengers on a carousel were stuck upside down for several hours 30 meters high at the Forest County Festival, in Wisconsin, this Wednesday, July 5.

Five cars were stopped in the middle of an attraction at the top of a loop due to a carousel breakdown, according to the Reuters video relayed at the end of the morning on Twitter.

The eight passengers, only attached by a harness, had to wait between 2h and 3h30 to be rescued one after the other. According to a press release from the emergency services, the distress call was made fifteen minutes after the start of the breakdown.

The head of the rescue operation told CNN that the ride “experienced a mechanical failure which caused it to become stuck in an upright position”. This same source assured that the attraction had been “recently inspected on site by the State of Wisconsin”.

“Everyone seems to be doing the best they can, given the circumstances,” fire captain Brennan Cook told the American channel. Each of the passengers was taken care of by a medical team and only one of them was taken to hospital in Rhinelander.
