The scratch card is played mainly by low and low middle class people in Portugal, reveal data from Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa (SCML), referring to 2019, made available this Saturday by the newspaper “Public”.
In the morning, SCML provided a study in which it is concluded that almost 80% of the people who play scratch cards are from the lower classes. The highest percentage of people who played in the scratch card that year were “social class E”, with a weight of 50%, followed by D, with 26.6%. The two added together reach 76.6%.
According to the same publication, the Government will not back down and will launch on May 18, in partnership with SCML, a new instant lottery game, called Cultural Heritage, in the form of scratch cards. The net operating results will be attributed to the Cultural Heritage Safeguard Fund.
