WANT MORE GENDER POINTS: NTNU will now introduce gender points for eight new studies. In addition, they will continue it for the 32 studies that already have it.

This is revealed by an application to the Ministry of Education, which must approve that NTNU can give gender points for admission to new studies, reports Chrono.

They will also extend the scheme with gender points for the 32 studies that already have it. According to Khrono, the university indicates that using gender points works to improve the balance between the sexes in an education.

These are gender points

Gender points mean that you get extra points when you apply for an education, and thus a higher total score in admission. The aim of the scheme is to recruit more of one gender to an education.

Gender points are only available for a few studies in Norway, and it is most common for women to be awarded. Gender points are also given to men in certain studies.

In addition to gender points and age points, you can get more additional points when the score, where grades make up the majority, is to be calculated. Examples of this are military points, civil service points, folk university points and vocational school points – among others.
