An exchange of good practices

“We always welcome new interns with great pleasure! », Assures Hélène Guichaoua, director of the Medical Establishment Commission (CME). The Guingamp hospital being a partner of the Brest medical school, many students come to do their internship there. An exchange of good practices for Ms. Guichaoua: “Their arrival stimulates the teams and in return, they are very well supported. We help them to perfect their technique, to apply the theoretical teaching… In short, we help them to become independent! The center also encourages interns to settle in the surrounding area. “Brittany attracts a lot”, affirms Ms. Guichaoua, “just like the format of the nursing homes which offers more reassuring perspectives of daily life”.

Interns discover each department

As for the interns, all in 7th or 8th year of medicine, the opinions are just as positive: “We were very well received and perfectly integrated into the services”, they explain. “We are, for the most part, housed in one of the houses of the hospital and we get along very well.” The interns are integrated into all of the hospital center services. “I joined Hélène in the emergency services”, explain Aliya and Hélène. “After cardiology, Quentin will go to the pulmonology department. As for Tô-Linh, in 8th year, he is already further afield and practices in obstetrics. Regarding their future installation, Cécile concludes: “We’ll see.
