Three women and five men have now contracted the corona virus. The source of infection is unknown in seven patients and is currently being determined by the health service. One patient, on the other hand, became infected from an already known infected person.
In the meantime, the number of detected virus mutation B.1.1.7 has risen to 16 cases due to the contact persons of infected people. In addition, the samples from three other suspected cases have recently been sent to the Charité consulting laboratory in Berlin for more detailed examination. “In following up the contacts and setting the quarantine for contact persons, we have taken all necessary measures to limit a possible spread. I ask people to continue to be absolutely careful and to avoid all contacts that are not absolutely necessary, as the new virus variants are much more contagious than the previous ones, ”appeals the chief medical officer, Dr. Alexandra Barth from the Health Service of the City of Neumünster.
