As the IFAF has announced, eight nations will compete in the IFAF Youth Flag Football European Championship in September. After successful American Football Junior European Championship in Bologna, where Austria won gold for the fifth time in a row, the Italian American Football Association (FIDAF) will also host the event in September, which will take place in Grosetto from September 8th to 11th.

“Our federation is immensely proud to be hosting a European event in our country again after the fantastic U19 European Championships in Bologna in 2019,” so FIDAF Präsident Prof. Leoluca Orlando, “Especially when you consider the enormous
difficulties worldwide for almost two years. It will be an absolute pleasure to welcome so many young athletes and their families to our wonderful country and we are doing everything we can to ensure this is an unforgettable event for everyone taking part. We would like to thank the IFAF for once again honoring us with the organization of such a prestigious competition and all the nations that have chosen to share our enthusiasm for this fresh start, which goes beyond sport.”

Austria is starting with newly formed teams in the classes U15 and U17, boys and girls respectively. Preparations have been in full swing for weeks, both in the field and organizationally. With the head coaches Michael Kipar and Holly Kellner, two outstanding coaches were entrusted with the development of the Flag Football national teams in the youth.
