Eight Migrants in Coma After Being Abandoned in Bus

Eight migrants are in a coma after being abandoned in a bus of AM “Trakia”. A report about the abandoned bus at the 55th kilometer or about a kilometer before the Trajanovi vrata tunnel in the direction of Sofia was filed shortly after 9 o’clock this morning, the Ministry of the Interior confirmed for bTV.

Five emergency aid teams from Sofia have arrived at the scene. There is an increased police presence and tracking dogs. Only the overtaking lane of the highway is open to traffic.

It was found that there were about 30 migrants in the bus. All – men of visible age between 15 and 30 years, without identity documents.

Eight of the migrants fell into a coma and were taken to different hospitals in Sofia. The rest are examined, an hour of them are severely dehydrated. If necessary, they will be taken to medical facilities, the Emergency Service told bTV.

The emergency teams transported a total of 18 people to hospitals. The injured migrants were accommodated in “Pirogov”, “Sveta Anna”, ISUL, “Aleksandrovska”, VMA, MIA and the hospital in Pazardzhik.

The prosecutor’s office reports that the van was locked. The Ministry of Internal Affairs added that all search actions have been taken.
