Eight beds for parents of small patients of the Lublin USD. Photos

They were donated by the Ronald McDonald Foundation on Thursday. The donation will be used by parents who, watching over their child, spend weeks or even months in the hospital.

– Helping parents is the key, the idea of our foundation. Being a foundation franchisee is not only a function, but also a task. We are entrepreneurs and good, sensitive neighbors. We try to be there when families need help, especially where the disease has appeared – he says Robert GrzybMcDonald’s Foundation Ambassador.

Mr. Łukasz Jankowski is in the hospital with his son Wiktor. The boy is a patient of the Department of Paediatrics, Lung Diseases and Rheumatology in USD. Father is very pleased with the new bed. She says that the comfort of staying with a child has changed a lot.

– A longer stay of small patients in the hospital is also a challenge for parents. When the older child was in the hospital, we did not have such good conditions – he recalls.

– We are a ward that hospitalizes children from 12 months of age, so most of our patients are small children. We treat children with chronic lung and rheumatological diseases. An important element of the child’s therapeutic process is undoubtedly the presence of the parent, and the conditions in which he is with him are very important – she says prof. dr. hab.n. Viotetta Opoka-Winiarska, MDhead of the Department of Lungs and Pediatric Rheumatology in USD.

On Thursday, eight beds were donated, and so far there have been 24 beds in total. Throughout Poland, the foundation has donated 972 beds in 49 hospitals.
