Eight Cultural Trailblazers Honored in Ñuble, Chile
The vibrant region of Ñuble, Chile, is celebrating the contributions of eight of its most influential cultural figures. Today, at a special ceremony held at the Town Theatre, the Regional Council of Cultures, Arts and Heritage will present its prestigious "Regional Identity on Cultures, Arts and Heritage" awards.
"These recognitions are dedicated to the professionals who have dedicated decades to enriching our cultural tapestry," said Scarlet Hidalgo Jara, Seremi of Cultures and chair of the Council. "By honoring those who have dedicated their lives to the development of culture, art, and heritage, we’re safeguarding their legacy and showcasing the unique character that makes Ñuble so special."
This year’s awardees represent a diverse range of artistic disciplines. Among them are visual artists, musicians, artisans, dancers, researchers, graphic designers, and writers.
Receiving the Recognition category award from the Regional Ministerial Secretariat of Cultures, Arts and Heritage is renowned visual artist and teacher Carlos Abarzúa Zapata. The prestigious Violeta Parra Sandoval Award for music goes to the talented young musician and producer Valentina Peralta Moya.
Honoring traditional craft, the Práxedes Caro Antigueño Recognition goes to the gifted red wheat straw artisan Celestina Gutiérrez Valderrama.
The art world celebrates teacher, choreographer, and dancer Solange Marchant Mass, winner of the Enrique Gajardo Velásquez Recognition for performing arts.
Professor Luis Márquez Esparza is recognized for his invaluable work in "Identification, Rescue and Research" (Alfonso Lagos Villar method), while José Agustín Córdova, a graphic designer with a focus on engraving, receives the award in Regional Innovative Art.
The Regional Ministerial Secretary for Cultures, Arts and Heritage acknowledges the dedication of praying lady María Nudosmila Jara for her important contributions to Traditional Culture.
Finally, the recognition for Literary Creation goes to the esteemed poet, essayist, and writer Pedro Lastra Salazar.
This marks the third year that the Council has presented these esteemed awards, cementing their role in recognizing and fostering the rich cultural heritage of Ñuble.
