The regional council of Freiburg has initiated the planning approval procedure for the conversion of the line connections in the Eichstetten substation. As announced by the RP, the planning documents are available for inspection from Monday, November 30th to Friday, January 22nd in the communities of Eichstetten, Teningen and Bahlingen.

In connection with the expansion of the Eichstetten substation, TransnetBW GmbH is planning to change the line connections to the substation. To this end, several overhead line systems are to be converted and a total of eleven new masts are to be erected, six masts to be dismantled and two masts to be reinforced. The renovation of the line connections is to take place over a period of two years, in each case in sections from guy mast to guy mast. Most of the work will take place in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district. Only the areas required for access are partly in the district of Emmendingen.

The Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald District Office is the approval authority for the expansion of the substation. The RP points out that these projects will not change the voltage level and transmission capacity. This will only take place in the next step with the planned network reinforcement in Daxlanden-Eichstetten to a voltage of 380 kV, for which a further plan approval procedure is pending.

The municipalities make the layout of the planning documents known locally. They also provide information about the premises, the opening times and the possibility of raising objections. Citizens whose concerns are affected by the project can raise objections until February 5th.

The documents can also be viewed from November 30th on the website of the regional council www.rp-freiburg.de under the heading “News”.
