As EHC Winterthur writes, it is starting the 2024/25 season of the Sky Swiss League with a fresh wind and several new players.
After an intensive preparation that ended last Friday, September 6, 2024, with a defeat against HC Thurgau, the team is once again aiming for the playoffs.
The numerous new additions and the two Canadian import players Brett Neumann and Allan McShane are intended to strengthen the team and help it overcome the hurdles from last season.
The challenge is that the team has to find its feet quickly in order to achieve the set goals.
Balanced league requires consistently high level
The first opponent is EHC Chur, who are promoted from the MyHockey League to the Sky Swiss League.
It will be important for Winterthur to be focused right from the start and to keep the motivated newcomers in check as much as possible.
The league itself also promises to be an exciting season, with favorites such as HC La Chaux-de-Fonds and HC Sierre. In the balanced league, EHC Winterthur must play consistently at a high level in order to be in the mix in the table and reach the playoffs.
The coming season will be challenging for the team, but also full of opportunities to develop further.
