The 30-year-old striker will continue to storm for the Eulachstadt team in the coming seasons. Staiger will begin his twelfth season in Winterthur in 2024/2025.
Sports director Christian Weber on the extension: “We are pleased that Anthony wants to continue the Winterthur path with us in the future. He is an important part of the team for us.”
Frédy Rothen takes responsibility for the first team
The position of head coach has also been filled. From now on and also next season, Frédéric “Frédy” Rothen will be responsible for the fortunes of the first team.
Rothen will take over the role immediately from Christian Weber, who was responsible for the team on an interim basis. Weber will remain in his role as sports director.
The 47-year-old Rothen was successful as a player at the highest level and held various coaching positions at EHC Kloten and HC Ajoie before his involvement in Winterthur.
Frédy Rothen has been working as an assistant coach at EHC Winterthur since the 2022/2023 season. EHC Winterthur is pleased that Staigi and Frédy are staying in Winterthur.
