The Wolves have signed another contingent player in 27-year-old Kenneth Hausinger. The striker complements the EHC squad until the end of the season.
For the native American, it is the first stop outside of his home country. Born in Alaska, the law shooter moved to the University of Massachusetts in 2016, where he was able to celebrate winning the demanding NCAA college championship in his freshman year. For the 2021/22 season, the attacker then joined the Reading Royals in the East Coast Hockey League and was able to score 47 points in 70 games alongside Jackson Cressey. In the current season, the striker wore the jerseys of the Norfolk Admirals and the Wichita Thunder, also in the ECHL, for which he scored a total of 16 points in 37 games. The import streamer is now moving to Breisgau until the end of the season.
Sporting director Peter Salmik says: “In Kenny, we found a player who, as a right-hander, center and winger, exactly meets our criteria when we were looking for a replacement at the free import point. He knows where the goal is and also has a good tackle and defence. We’ve only heard good things about him from his former team-mate Jackson Cressey and we’re delighted to have him on our team at this important stage of the season.”
New signing Kenneth Hausinger says: “I am very happy to have the opportunity to play for EHC Freiburg. It will be a new and exciting experience for me. I can’t wait to get on the ice and in front of the Wlfe fans to play.”
Should all the formalities be fulfilled, Kenneth Hausinger will celebrate his debut for EHC Freiburg in the home game on Friday against the Kassel Huskies.
