Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, addressed a message of thanks and appreciation to all members of the nursing staff, for all their efforts to provide health services at the highest level of quality and for their humanitarian role that they perform in the various stages of treatment, on the occasion of the celebrations of the International Nursing Day.

This came during his speech, today, Monday, at the International Nursing Day celebration, which was organized by the General Syndicate of Nursing, in the presence of heads of bodies and representatives of various state institutions, professional unions, and a number of nursing teams in all governorates.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the minister reviewed the developments taking place in the nursing file within the health system in Egypt, stressing that there is a mandate from the President of the Republic to reconsider and review the material conditions of medical teams, including nursing teams, which is currently being studied to set a fee. Material commensurate with the effort exerted by the medical teams, as well as the moral support and appreciation for them.

Abdul Ghaffar added that the minister drew attention to the addition of new nursing specializations during the recent period, and a working group was formed to update and review student curricula in nursing schools and technical institutes affiliated with the Ministry of Health, pointing to the addition of 20,000 nursing members annually to the health system through these educational facilities, in addition to To graduates of nursing colleges and institutes in Egyptian universities.

Abdel Ghaffar added that the minister pointed out that the ministry seeks to develop and support the health system in Egypt, and one of its most important pillars is investing in the human element and improving the level of education and training for all members of the health team, led by members of the nursing staff, in order to build expertise and capabilities to obtain a nurse with qualifications and It meets the needs of the local and global market.

For her part, Dr. Kawthar Mahmoud, Head of the Nursing Syndicate, said that the file of developing the nursing system is at the top of the Egyptian government’s concerns. She thanked all members of the nursing staff working in the health system, assuring them of her keenness to provide all means of material and moral support.

Dr. Naima Al-Qaseer, representative of the World Health Organization in Egypt, added that the development of the nursing system inside Egypt receives support, actual contribution and translation on the ground, pointing to the development of clear strategic programs for the advancement of nursing services, noting the organization’s keenness to cooperate with the Ministry of Health and Higher Education and the Syndicate for investment. in improving the nursing situation.

Dr. Mohamed Latif, head of the Egyptian Health Council, said that the council emphasizes the role of nursing as an essential partner in providing high-quality health care to the community, and is also committed to supporting the efforts of the Nursing Syndicate in developing the profession and raising the efficiency of training at various levels. Dr. Ahmed Taha, head of the General Authority for Control and Accreditation, said that there has been a great boom in the nursing sector, indicating that the nursing authority carries a large number of responsibilities.

Dr. Ashraf Hatem, Chairman of the Health Committee in the House of Representatives, indicated that nursing is the first line of defense for the Egyptian patient, pointing out that nursing staff receive continuous training and education by nursing faculties, and work is underway on a medical liability law to protect all members of the medical profession.

Dr. Ali Mahran, Chairman of the Senate Health Committee, drew attention to the Egyptian nursing homes, pointing to the need to pay attention to the nursing teams, educate them, and provide them with a suitable work environment.
