The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs celebrated, on Tuesday evening, the Egyptian Diplomatic Day, in the presence of Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, a number of former foreign ministers, some assistants to the minister and young diplomats, at the headquarters of the Diplomatic Club in the center of the capital.
Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry opened the ceremony with a speech in which he touched on the efforts made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to defend Egyptian interests and Egyptian national security, referring to the role of diplomatic missions abroad in defending and defending Egyptian interests.
In addition, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry affirmed that the Egyptian state is working to calm conflicts and find political and diplomatic means to avoid the devastating effects of their outbreak, work to protect Egyptian interests, and immunize Egypt from any repercussions related to these conflicts.
In statements to Al-Youm Al-Sabea, the Minister of Foreign Affairs indicated that Egypt has many partnerships that are characterized by balance in its international relations, which qualifies it to always be a voice for wisdom and formulate visions on how to deal with issues, stressing that the Egyptian state deals with all the challenges it faces, and has Influences within the framework of the role played by the Egyptian missions, especially in the framework of the multi-level documentation of positions and unification of visions to resolve crises and work to find peaceful and diplomatic means to reduce tension.
Minister Shoukry stressed that the members of the Egyptian diplomatic corps, women and men, feel proud and honored as they play their patriotic role, describing them as the soldiers of the homeland stationed outside the borders and the watchful eyes of Egypt all over the world, pointing out that they work around the clock to protect its capabilities and defend its interests, following with an eye They examine all issues and topics that affect Egypt’s national security, and they move to present Egyptian positions and explain their dimensions, and they make every effort to take care of Egypt’s expatriate sons.
The ceremony witnessed the honoring of a number of diplomats who passed away during the course of their work during the past two years. The ceremony also witnessed the honoring of a number of diplomats who were retired during the past year, while the Minister of Foreign Affairs decided to honor nine current diplomats in Egypt and in missions abroad to encourage them to provide more fruitful work.
