Dr. Amjad Al-Wakil, Chairman of the Nuclear Power Plants Authority, said that commercial operation of the nuclear reactor will begin in September 2028, followed by the inauguration of the remaining reactor units.
The agent added, on the sidelines of the “Atom Expo 2024” forum held in the city of Sochi, Russian Federation, that the trial operation of the first reactor at the Dabaa station will begin during the second half of 2027.
He pointed out that the project will provide between 7.2 and 7.7 billion cubic meters of gas annually after operating all units of the nuclear station.
Within the framework of the ongoing meetings and discussion sessions at the Atom Expo International Conference, which was held in the Russian city of Sochi from March 25 to 26, 2024, the Nuclear Power Plants Authority participated in several discussion panels to convey the distinguished Egyptian experience in managing the Dabaa Nuclear Station project.
