Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi considered, on Thursday, that the only way out of the crisis situation in Gaza is to work on a just and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian issue on the basis of the two-state solution.
During a phone call he received from Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Al-Sisi stressed the importance of pushing at the present time to stop all military actions targeting civilians in the Gaza Strip.
The Egyptian President and the Danish Prime Minister discussed the ongoing military developments in the Gaza Strip.
Al-Sisi stressed that “Egypt is continuing its efforts to coordinate regional and international efforts to deliver urgent humanitarian and relief aid and ensure its access to the Gaza Strip, in order to spare the Palestinian people further suffering.”
The two sides pointed out “the extreme seriousness of the situation and the need to avoid expanding the circle of conflict, due to its regional repercussions that threaten security and stability, in addition to the priority of improving the humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip.”
The Danish Prime Minister expressed “great appreciation for the tireless Egyptian efforts made in this regard at various levels, which culminated in the organization of the Cairo Peace Summit.”
On Wednesday, Sisi said in a press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron that “the absence of a political solution was one of the reasons for the fighting” between Israel and Hamas.
He stressed that “a ground attack on Gaza must be avoided, because this may lead to civilian casualties.”
Al-Sisi added: “We view with great danger the expansion of the circle of violence to include other areas within the region or region, and the threat to its stability.”
