Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi Addresses Upcoming Presidential Elections and Calls for Change

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Activists on social media circulated statements by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in which he addressed the issue of the upcoming presidential elections and that “Egyptians have an opportunity for change.”

This came in statements by Al-Sisi on the sidelines of the “Story of a Homeland” conference, on Saturday, where he said: “I have one word I want to say to the people. This is what we did (during his rule), and you have a chance to change in the upcoming elections. The matter is all for God. “Something he will take.”

Al-Sisi referred to the criticism directed at his economic policies, considering that there is a “state of mistrust” among Egyptians regarding what the government is doing.

Al-Sisi said that during the last ten years in which he ruled Egypt, there were “trumpets of lies, slander, and active rumors that slander every action and course you take… You are not appreciated for what you do for their sake, and when you do this, you are abused and your officials and their families are abused.”
